During the latest edition of Mobile World Congress, TECNO Mobile, a global manufacturer of premium smartphones, announced that Samsung RGBW color filter sensor technology will be available in its upcoming new CAMON series, which are well known as the camera phone. This new technology was co-developed with SAMSUNG, which involves the addition of a white sub-pixel to existing universal RGB configurations in phones, and is sold as part of ISOCELL RGBW color filter sensor solutions.
RGBW (red, green, blue, white) technology is heralded as the next big change to existing mobile camera bezels, allowing the new generation of phones to match professional cameras even more, particularly in temperature-sensitive areas. light and low light environments. The new RGBW sensor will connect to a 64MP camera and increase the light input of the CMOS sensor, effectively improving image quality and creating ultra-clear details without affecting contrast on dark and backlit backgrounds. Together with TECNO’s complementary Glass + Plastic (G+P) technology, light intake can be further improved by another 30%, effectively doubling the overall image quality for users.
Compared with traditional RGGB sensor
The RGBW light-capturing sensor adopts a new pixel arrangement and introduces white (W) pixels that are more sensitive to light because they do not damage the original three primary colors, with 1.7 times better sensitivity than green. color filter, which can not only ensure that the color is not distorted, but also improve the brightness of the camera.
Pan Xuebao, Vice President and Director of R&D at Samsung Electronics, said:
“This technological innovation was created based on user feedback and an effort to provide brighter, clearer images. especially in low light and super night mode. His first release in TECNO’s CAMON series brings us one step closer to the dream of bringing DSLR-level photography to consumers around the world.”
“The TECNO CAMON series has always been focused on providing our users with an exceptional camera experience. The use of RGBW will increase the capabilities of the camera and increase the flexibility in the TECNO CAMON 19 series to respond to consumer demands, to highlight natural human characteristics and colors to show aesthetics and diversity in different markets,” he said. Leo Lee, Senior Product Manager at TECNO.
TECNO’s popular CAMON series has always been a pioneer in the area of moving imaging. New technology releases such as RGBW and G+P in the new CAMON release will drive the next evolution of mobile imaging.
